The Skill4Driver Motorway Course
The Skill4Driver Motorway Course is suited to everyone from learner drivers to experienced motorists who would like to strengthen their confidence, knowledge, and motorway driving skills. Each session is tailored to your current ability, enabling you to progress in a way that feels measured, reassuring, and effective.
Your training begins with an initial assessment of your current experience, skill level, and confidence. This may take the form of a discussion to address any concerns you may have, or a practical motorway drive to evaluate your ability and identify the areas where focused support will be most beneficial.
Key knowledge and skills covered include:
1. Rules and legal requirements, including journey planning, sat nav use, and vehicle checks.
2. Joining and leaving motorways safely and confidently.
3. Driving at speed while maintaining safe space, timing, planning, and anticipation.
4. Lane discipline and safe overtaking.
5. Use of the hard shoulder and understanding smart motorways.
6. Safe and effective use of service areas.
Course Options
Course length remains flexible and can be tailored to suit your individual needs, experience, and confidence level. Prices start from £150.00, with each option designed to provide structured, high-quality support at a pace that is right for you.
Course 1: Short Course
A one-day session with a minimum duration of three hours, including a rest stop at a service area, ideal for drivers seeking focused support in a concise format.
Course 2: One-Week Course
A three-day course delivered over one week, with each session lasting a minimum of three hours and including a rest stop at a service area each day, offering a balanced and supportive progression.
Course 3: One-Month Course
One or two sessions per week over the course of a month, allowing time to practise between sessions. Each session lasts a minimum of three hours and includes a rest stop at a service area, making this option ideal for drivers who prefer a more gradual and confidence-building approach.
Courses can also be extended on request if you would like additional support or more time to build confidence.
Dual Carriageway Course
The Dual Carriageway Course follows the same structured approach as the Motorway Course while extending your training to additional fast and complex road environments. It is designed to help drivers develop greater confidence, stronger planning skills, and a more refined driving approach across a broader range of conditions.
1. Safe use of complex junctions, including roundabouts and traffic lights.
2. Driving on rural and urban roads that include dual carriageways.
